Damn, I didn’t even look at all those questions before reblogging :P Hmmm. Here goes:

6.  Your best experience on going to the movies

Off the top of my head, I guess I would say…the first time I went to Cineworld. In January 2011, to see “The King’s Speech”. The film was being shown in Screen No.3 which is the biggest one in Cineworld…I was pretty overwhelmed when I entered and I saw how ridiculously HUGE both the room and the screen were…and so FULL of people. Over 600 people. Probably now I wouldn’t be as overwhelmed, but then I had never seen anything like that ever! I even phoned my parents to tell them, I was *that* excited. I thought the film was very good, which also enhanced the experience. (my opinion of the film has changed quite a bit since then, though)

7. A guilty pleasure

I do love quite a few films that are widely considered not very good, or even bad. But I don’t care. I actually made something of a Top 50 favourite films yesterday, and there were quite a few of such films in there. I do just love them, can’t explain why. Here’s a few:

The Holiday (the 2006 Cameron Diaz-Kate Winslet-Jude Law-Jack Black film)

Bell Book and Candle (the 1958 James Stewart-Kim Novak film)

Mogambo (the 1953 Clark Gable-Ava Gardner-Grace Kelly film)

I also enjoy any Marilyn Monroe film, no matter how bad or silly it may be.

And, actually, I guess what would fit better in this “guilty pleasures” category would be the fact that I enjoy the Step Up films. I don’t think they’re good from a filmic perspective by any means, but the dancing in them is freakin awesome and because of that I very much enjoy watching them.

Also, the Scary Movie franchise is very funny to me.

8. An overrated movie

The King’s Speech, The Social Network, The Shawshank Redemption, Casablanca, It’s a Wonderful Life, The Graduate.

And many others. (so many from the IMDb Top 250)

(please don’t kill me, tumblr people, fans of the above mentioned films)

9. An underrated movie

Hal Hartley’s “Trust”

Hitchcock’s “Foreign Correspondent”

Kar Wai’s “Days of Being Wild”

That’s just off the top of my head.

And, obviously, I *have* to say Nuovo Cinema Paradiso, my favourite film, which more people should watch. It did get recognition, even an Academy Award for Best Foreign Film, but I keep noticing that barely none of the people I know have seen it…or heard of it.

31. 3 movies you’re expecting excitedly!

Hmmm…I don’t know if I could say that I’m expecting anything *excitedly*, but I do look forward to Wong Kar Wai’s “The Grandmasters” (because he’s one of my favourite directors and hasn’t made a film in a while) and Tarantino’s “Django Unchained” (because I like most of what I’ve seen from his work, and the cast of this film looks…intriguing: Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Samuel L. Jackson, Sacha Baron Cohen, Christoph Waltz, Kurt Russell, Jamie Foxx and others).
